More problems for U. S. Citizens wanting to go to their embassy for help.

If never able to ever see a honest-to-goodness-American at the U. S. Embassy in Manila were not enough, now you cannot go there unexpectedly! You must make an appointment!

The only people who can go there unexpectedly are Philipinos and all other nationalities! Welcome to the P. I., G.I.! "Only in The P.I."

This letter was sent to us. We leave the grammar as we received it.

__________

Hi Mr. Thomas,

Just something you might check on or even ask the Question.

Who really runs the Manila US Embassy and makes the policies?

My friend, I mentioned before, and I both needed to get papers and some things from the Manila US Embassy. We were both told that we would have to make appointment to get into the Manila US Embassy.  While Filipinos were lined up to go into the Embassy without appointments.  So who really runs the Manila Embassy?  The Ambassador  Kristy or the Philipinos?

My friend was told this was started  January 2009 and I was told it was started in February.  It ticked me off to see Filipinos walk into the Embassy without appointment and I with a service connected  100% disability and American Veteran and American Citizen couldn't.

I called the US State Department and spoke with the Duty Officer since it was night there.  I got a call back from the Manila Duty Officer telling me it was new policy that was started February 2009 as he tried to brush me off.  Which only upset me more and I called the US State Department again.  The Manila Duty Officer called me again telling me I should use their website and will have to make appointments from now on to visit the any department in the Manila US Embassy. From Civilians Services, Veteran Administration to the Social Security.  Which really pissed me off since I am trying to get my son  U. S. passport request paperwork. Then I was told they would mail me one, that I couldn’t come in and pick one up. ( Special note: when it arrived it was sent COD and cost me 250 pesos. When I had been there to the Manila US Embassy and they wouldn't let me in to get one for free.

When I called the US to the U.S. State Department the third time.  The Operator connected me with Hillary's Office and I got the answering machine.  Beside informing them of the above.  I informed them that my friend and I have given our emails and all contact info to the Manila US Embassy.  From Civilians Services, Veteran Administration to the Social Security. And both of us had been getting email newsletters until they stopped the end of 2008.    We heard that Kristy didn't know of the policy change and the Philipino guards were turning Americans away and telling us to make appointments and there was a meeting last Friday.  But nothing has come out of it as far as we know.  So I ask again who is really running the Manila US Embassy? The U.S. State Department, the Ambassador, the Philipinos working in the US Embassy or the Philippines Government through corruption?  If you find out please let me know?
